A lot of ankle, knee and even hip issues can stem from weak feet. Considering martial arts is one of the only sports where you compete barefoot…I would argue that strong, stable & mobile feet/ankles are a must. In my opinion, if you’re not training your foot/ankle strength & mobility, you’re leaving a lot of athletic potential on the table! Here is one of my fave ways to practice mobility for the ankle joint. 🧱 I’m using a block to raise and rest my leg so there is space for the foot to move around without hitting the floor. ➡️ I begin by point the foot forward as much as possible into plantar flexion. Moving toes forward is it’s the foot and pulling the heel back towards the block. ⬅️ Then dorsi flexion. Pulling the toes and foot back towards the shin and reaching the heel away from the block. 🔂 Repeat this a few times. Holding
