This generation of actors saw some extraordinary audience members, but I’d say those in attendance were also privileged to have seen these magnificent thespians at the peak of their powers. His voice, charisma, and mannerisms are true poetry. It’s a terrible shame that his health kept declining after this interview in 1974. The dignity in his behavior holds even more weight when you know that he was very troubled even then. O
