Trimming a little one-off bowl, thrown and altered, the spout pulled and finally the vessel is left to sit overnight so it can turn leather hard. Before I turn it I pinch in the sides of the spout, just to redefine the shape as it can loosen overnight as the clay unwinds as it dries. I’ll do the same thing again after trimming too, just to make sure it’s the shape I want. Otherwise, I need precariously prop the bowl with lugs of clay and trim very carefully as of course, it doesn’t sit totally f
