The @phxart museum has an amazing collection of paintings by contemporary Western artists. One of my favorites is this Louisa McElwain painting titled “Desert Rain God.” The story of how the Phoenix Art Museum acquired it is great because the outcome yielded two monumental works for their collection, this McElwain, and another amazing piece by Howard Post.
