Is This The Oldest Dad In The Fossil Record?

Lilacs need to be rejuvenation pruned so that the oldest thickest stems are being cut to the base to allow for new growth to come up from the bottom of the plant. Those younger new stems will give you more flowers and they are much more resilient to disease and pests. We prune our lilacs within 2 to 3 weeks of the flowers dying in the spring.
