Howdah Flintlock Pistol [circa 1810] The Magnum of its day, this massive bore pistol was designed for use at close-quarters as last line of defence, and a favoured weapon in India for tiger hunters who hunted from the top of elephants in the Howdah – hence the name Howdah Pistol.
