🤔 Why Autistic Kids over react when they do mistakes? Ever noticed autistic kids overreacting to mistakes, trying again and again until it's just right? 🔄 And here are the reasons behind their overreaction to mistakes: 1. We need a lot more space to talk about disconnects in communication with others, especially those with disorders or other cognitive nuances that make it difficult to understand someone else’s point. It’s a sad thing to see so much of. The advice in this video can be applied to many instances with many kinds of people,

Did homeschooling start off this way? Absolutely not. The first years were comprised mostly of meltdowns, shutdowns, communication struggles, and sleep deprivation. These were the years in which he lost his voice & confidence due to selective mutism. The year he turned 7 was the spiciest year. It felt like a power struggle. Aggression was at an all-time high. We scrapped that entire year and worked solely on emotional regulation, meditation, self-reflection, self-expression, and understanding ou

This is emotional intelligence for us autistic parents or parents of autistic children…👇👇👇1. To understand our emotions and the nuances of our support needs. 2. To be able to process those emotions in a peaceful way. 3. To be able to communicate to our loved ones when we have unmet needs. I wish my parents knew how to coach me in my emotions and needs…But now I have the privilege to have the toolbox 🧰 to help my neurodivergent child navigate his feelings peacefully. My autistic son broke his TV during a meltdown. Many ask if he will be punished or if he shows any remorse. No. I won't punish him other than him having the natural consequence of not having a TV in his room. And yes. He has remorse. He apologized to it and kissed it as if it had feelings. I will love him through his struggles. I will help him everyday and keep giving him coping strategies. I just know it takes time for him to learn and understand, build skills in his hard moments. Our kids need

I totally recommend doing this activity with kids on a Sunday rather than going to the mall. Being connected to nature and caring for it imbibes good values and also teaches patience and calmness and being grounded, as opposed to a mall visit that makes kids eat junk, get over excited, learn aggression at the gaming zones, want to shop for unnecessary things etc etc. All parents, make this positive change today. Doesn’t cost anything, and has far too many benefits in terms of personality develop

Your kid’s daily habits could be TOXIC!Certain habits can increase the odds your child has mental struggles at home and in school… But, improving your child's behavior at home and school can be as simple as making a few non-toxic changes to their life. You can do this by reducing or eliminating these 5 brain disruptors 🧠 from their routine: 1️⃣ Too much screen time: Research shows it promotes aggression and affects social and emotional skills. 2️⃣ Artificial flavors & colors: These toxins in fo
