I love spring so much and one of the first signs of its arrival that I always look for are the tiny red buds on the maple trees. They aren’t showy and popular like the non-native Japanese cherry blossoms that get all the hype. They’re much more low key and most people probably hardly notice them high up in the canopies but for those who are observant they are one of the first signals of spring’s arrival. Inspired by their humble beauty I have crafted a couple new pieces using real budding twigs
