One of the things I love about this Navajo Burntwater butterfly pictorial rug is the colors. It’s unusual to see these blues and purples on a rug like this and this rug not only has all these beautiful colors, but it has butterflies! Now, maybe I find that more interesting because my dad was an entomologist, but I haven’t seen a lot of those designs and Navajo weavings. There’s two sides to every story… and every Navajo weaving. In this case, we have a Teec Nos Pos double saddle blanket with a beautiful, colorful design on the “A” side. The other side, or the “B” side, is fairly worn and the color has faded a great deal.
