Sail -vs- Motor Cruising? - SailNet Community
2007年7月19日 · I want to sail into the sunset and hopefully I will, but I have seen some pretty compelling arguments made for motors and motor sailers. Older trawlers can be had for far less $$ than sailboats. That savngs is enough to buy a lot of fuel and some of them use a lot less than I thought. Trawlers often have better passenger accomodations.

2008年3月19日 · It worked because Sailnet doesn't sell SAILBOATS, so the word sailboat isn't getting autolinked. I usually just type a word I want to use as the link, like LINK, or HERE, and then highlight it and paste the URL into the box that appears when I click on the link icon (globe like thing with two chain links) in the tool bar.

Sailing up Coast of California - SailNet Community
2012年3月21日 · Don't be fooled by the distance; it may be only 500 miles or so, but it could easily take a couple of weeks. Many years ago I helped a friend sail and old Ericson 35-2, with very tired sails and an Atomic 4 that was really an Atomic 2-and-a-half, from LA to SF. We got to Port San Luis in a week. But it then took three tries to get from PSL to SF.

2009年1月8日 · The hollow wooden spars are fine if cared for. Generally a lot of boat for the money and comfortable in a chop. A bit faster than you might expect in a 28,000 fat girl. Shorten sail in a blow to keep the ride comfortable or don't if you like to …
Passport 40 Review w/John Kretschmer | SailNet Community
2009年3月18日 · From a sail rig perspective, the Passport 40 was built to have an inner forestay. Our version doesn't have it, but over 50% of Passport 40's are "cutter" rigged. I put cutter in quotes since the measurements aren't quite spot-on for making it a cutter. Another radical difference in Passport 40's is the forward configuration.

Columbia 26 MKII and K DIY - SailNet Community
2006年9月14日 · I sail mine with the outboard motor in the well. The reason for this is because it makes my boat look more elegant - like an inboard, and, because these boats sometimes tend to hobby-horse, the prop never comes out of the water. It is easier to work on the motor. I believe this is worth the 1knot sacrificed in speed.
