The drug udenafil is marketed under the trade name Zydena. It is within the PDE 5 inhibitor class (which also includes avanafil, sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil). Like other PDE 5 inhibitors, it is used to treat erectile dysfunction. Udenafil was developed by Dong-A Pharmaceutical. [1]

Phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5is), primarily used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, have been severely misused in recent years, posing a threat to public health and safety.

Aim: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Udenafil [Zydena] (Dong-A, Seoul, Korea), a newly developed PDE5I, for the treatment of ED patients on antihypertensive medication. Methods: It was a multicentered, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, fix-dosed clinical trial among 165 ED patients receiving antihypertensive medications.

A new oral selective PDE5 inhibitor, udenafil (Zydena, Dong-A, Seoul, Korea), has recently been developed for the treatment of ED. ZYDENA is indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. 4.2. Posology and method of administration. For most patients, the recommended starting dose of ZYDENA in male adults is 100 mg, taken orally approximately 30 minutes to 12 hours before sexual activity. The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once per day.
