Zorkul (Dari: زارکول; Pashto: زارکول; Tajik: Зоркӯл, romanized: Zārkul) is a lake in the Pamir Mountains that runs along the border between the Wakhan District in Badakhshan Province of Afghanistan and the Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region of Tajikistan. It is part of both the Wakhan National Park of Afghanistan and the Tajik National Park.

Zorkul Nature Reserve is a 1,610 km 2 (620 sq mi) nature reserve in the south-eastern section of the Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region of Tajikistan, adjoining the border with the Wakhan National Park of Afghanistan in the Wakhan District of Badakhshan Province.

Territory of the reserve referred to the Central Asian natural climatic range with highland Zorkul Lake of glacial origin. This lake situated on the altitude of 4100-4200 m. Within the territory of the reserve there are three more average lakes with the common name Chakankuli, which reached out along one of the gorge of Vakhan mountain ridge.

2023年5月21日 · Zorkul lake lies at an altitude of 4126 meters from sea level in the Pamir Mountains that spread along the border between Afghanistan and Tajikistan. The lake stretches east to west for about 25 km and belongs to the Murgab district area.

Lake Zorkul is located in the eastern Pamirs between Ishkoshim and Murghob on the border of Afghanistan and Tajikistan. It stretches from the east to west for 25 km and covers an area of 87,700 hectares.

Zorkul Lake stretches from east to west for about 20 km and is located 4120 meters above sea level on the Afghan-Tajik border. Part of the waters have their source in the Vakhan chain located to the south and its Concordia peak (5,470 m), about 11 km (as the crow flies) south of the lake.

The 3,900 ha Lake Zorkul (also known as Siri-kul and Lake Victoria) and the associated wetlands are an important area for migrating birds. The reserve also hosts the breeding of a range of species, including nine IBA trigger species; the bar-headed goose Anser indicus is a flagship species for the reserve.
