Zadracarta (τὰ Ζαδρακάρτα) is a name recorded by Greek historians referring to the largest city of Hyrcania during Achaemenid period. The city was a fortified royal residence. [1] The precise location of Zadracarta is uncertain. Some identify it with city of Sari. [1] .

According to the Greek historian Arrian, Zadracarta was the largest city of Hyrcania and the site of the "royal palace". [9] The term means "the yellow city", and it was given to it from the great number of oranges, lemons, and other fruit trees which grew in the outskirts of that city.
