The first thing they asked me was if I was getting any hum or noise from the RCA outputs on my DAC to my balanced headphone amp (an SPL Auditor).

2024年11月18日 · I knew from helping my friend in building his OCC silver RCA that the cost of that RCA was near the cost of this XLR to RCA cable (though my cable is just 75 cm whereas friend’s RCA cable was 1 meter). The friend’s RCA cable was nowhere near as thick as mine, making my cable actually better value than DIY. Now that’s super impressive.

In most cases yes. You can tell by looking at the components specs. A fully balanced component should list 2 sets of specs.

2019年11月13日 · On occasion, I like to run a fully balanced DAC/preamp with no rca anlaog connections into a tube amp with only rca connections. I purchased xlr adapters and connect those to my DAC/preamp to run a single ended cable to my tube amp. I have also tried dedicated xlr to rca cables. All is well, if not ideal with one exception.

2019年5月9日 · XLR pin #2 connects with the center RCA contact (signal) XLR pins #1 and #3 are joined and connected to the RCA sleeve (ground) I provided the above to Audiolab and asked about compatibility. At this point it's academic, because I received the Hafler HA15 headphone amp, which I'm using with Yorkville DLX XLR cables.

2017年9月3日 · Going from XLR to RCA cables over that distance introduced a hum which I'd like very much to get rid of. It's subtle but noticeable when no music is playing. It virtually vanishes at my listening position. In spite of the hum, the RCA cables still sound much better going into the RCA inputs of my amp than the XLR cables did going into the same amp.

I believe said switch should be passive, have 2 RCA (unbalanced) and 2 XLR (balanced) INPUTS and 2 RCA (unbalanced) and 2 XLR (balanced) OUPUTS and some means of selecting one or the other input (a toggle switch, rotary knob or push buttons would suffice).

2021年9月10日 · In the meantime I was very surprised to find that, with simply Monoprice XLR to RCA adapters I was able to use my single-ended amps (Perlas) for my main front two stereo channels, into my Aerial 20T V2s and they sound very very good.

2019年1月18日 · He has two subs. So what about using your idea, but splitting the XLR three ways. The XLR goes to the amp. Make one RCA: + /gnd sent to one sub. Another RCA: -/GND goes to the other sub. The 2nd sub is run at 180 degrees. However IMO opinion it is better to stay with components that have compatible connections with each other.

2013年3月22日 · The RCA's are about 5.2V and the XLR's about 10.33V...way hotter than normal consumer level (Mytek is a pro company after all). So Michal and company devised the newer jumpers (older Myteks didn't have the jumpers) to reduce output, and also offered to modify anyones DAC back in NY.
