XCircuit is a schematic capture program for drawing publication-quality VLSI electrical circuit schematic diagrams and related figures. It's part of the Open Circuit Design tools. It's primarily intended for ULSI/VLSI IC design and not for PCB design, the latter though is still possible. [2]

2002年11月25日 · Version 2.3.3: XCircuit builds with GNU automake/autoconf, hopefully making it easier to compile, since system-dependent things such as Python, XPM, and Ghostscript are preferred. Version 2.3.3 includes fixes for proper PCB netlisting, and some library part changes to facilitate PCB netlisting.

Beginning with xcircuit version 3.1, the development platform is the Tcl-enabled version of xcircuit, with special compile-time instructions (see below). It is not necessary to compile with Tcl, or Python, as xcircuit will run just fine without any interpreter or other command-line based interface.
