I had helped my friend fix the VOR antenna on his 150 last year when the nylon insulator block at the top of the vertical fin cracked and one side of the antenna was handing down.

2021年10月7日 · My full IFR equipped C-150 had dual ILS/GS/VOR an ADF and marker beacons. I added a Mode C encoder when they made it necessary... No HSI, no DME, no GPS. I flew it everywhere IFR at 90KIAS... It would still be a great trainer today.

I am currently debating going the “cheap” route and installing a King KX-165 nav/com and a king KI-204 VOR/GS, paired with either the PMA 4000 or PMA 6000 audio panel and a king DME.

2020年6月23日 · Kirk, well done on the VOR antenna repair!!! The quicker is maintaining the braid portion sealed from any humidity and condensation. Once water gets in, you will have a mis match antenna and create additional attenuation on the coax.

2020年8月19日 · The audio panel will have DME from the factory, but that doesn’t mean DME is installed. Just an option on the audio panel if installed. That said, most real life c150/2 won’t have DME. You can still be an IFR capable aircraft without DME, just limits your approved approaches/fixes.

2020年6月22日 · I’m away from home at the moment and so can’t look up the part number for the VOR block. On my Cardinal it was under $20, but Mark Van Wyck said the part for the 150 cost $200. Until I get back, here are the details on how to charge it.
