Born in 1997, the Verdon Natural Regional Park protects and valorises 180,000 ha along the river from Saint-André-les-Alpes to Vinon-sur-Verdon. This land of contrasts straddles the Alpes de Haute Provence and Var departments.

The Verdon Regional Natural Park is crossed by the Verdon River which has, over the centuries, incised the rock in a spectacular way. It is 165-kilometer long and has a large storage capacity which make it a real water tower for Provence, supplying the largest cities with drinking water.

Renowned for fascinating hikes, enriching cultural discoveries and encounters with exceptional wildlife, each Regional Natural Park offers a true immersion in preserved landscapes, while playing a crucial role in the protection of our natural heritage. The PNR is an emblematic example.
