Veldrol® is an extended-release formulation intended for once a day dosing in adults aged 18 years and older. The capsules must be swallowed whole with liquid and must not be split, chewed, dissolved or crushed. Chewing, crushing or splitting the capsule could result in the uncontrolled delivery of Veldrol, in overdose and death.

Absolute bioavailability of Veldrol suppositories is 78±10%. Veldrol has a high tissue affinity (Vd,β=203±401). It has a plasma protein-binding ratio of about 20%. Veldrol passes the blood-brain and placental barriers.
