Vaike is one of the most underappreciated characters in Awakening because IS decided to screw him over by making your first interactions with him a burp scene and forgetting a weapon. Outside of that though he's a very good character, with actual motivations based on his past that aren't over the top anime edge and solid character interactions.

Vaike is the game's sole member of the Fighter class that you will be able to recruit during Fire Emblem: Awakening. He's all about adulation and praise and loves it when people call him Teach. He can also be quite absent-minded, as is evidenced by the fact that he leaves behind his weapon when he joins up with the rest of Chrom's Sheperds.
