The M8 armored gun system (AGS), sometimes known as the Buford, is an American light tank that was intended to replace the M551 Sheridan and TOW missile-armed Humvees in the 82nd Airborne Division and 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment (2nd ACR) of the U.S. Army respectively.

With additional design changes, the Colt "New Model" bayonet (above) was standardized as the U.S. M7 Bayonet-Knife for use with the 5.56 mm. NATO caliber U.S. M16 assault rifle. The M7 bayonet is not just a M4 Second Production bayonet with a larger muzzle ring. The M7 hilt (and grips) are longer than the M4.

2004年4月4日 · The original M8 scabbards are numbered from B /1 N to about B 2/2 N. The M8A1 scabbards (still marked USM8 on the throat) start at about that point to around B 3/1 and then the marking switches to USM8A1. These numbers are useful in helping to determine whether a scabbard marked M8 on the throat was manufactured as an M8 or M8A1.
