2010年9月17日 · On of the 27,060 Model M-1860 Heavy Cavalry Sabers created for the United States Army by the Emmerson & Silver company out of Trenton, New Jersey. The company was awarded the contract for cavalry sabers and other military goods just prior to the outbreak of the Civil War. The majority of their weapons went to use in the Union Army.

Taking inspiration from antique blades in private collections, our saber is made from 1055 carbon steel with a hard spring temper that is capable of passing the famous British Proof Test. This beautiful sword is sold complete with a double ringed steel scabbard which can easily be attached to a saddle or belt.

The 1840 saber was used during the Mexican–American War by US Cavalry. The main contractors were Ames of Cabotville, Horstmann, and Tiffany but due to the large number of swords required at least 1,000 were made in Germany by S&K and imported.
