History The origin of the town dates back to the time of Al-Andalus when it was an important farmstead. Following the Christian reconquest, it was chartered by Alphonso X and ceded to the Ecclesiastic Council of Seville. From that time onwards the history of Umbrete has been closely linked to that of Seville.

Durante la conquista cristiana fue donada por el rey Alfonso X quien marcó la historia de este pueblo cuando lo donó mediante carta-puebla al Cabildo Eclesiástico de Sevilla.
