Tau (τ) is an Irrational character who made their first appearance in "Pie Vs Pi: The Pi Day Massacre". Tau is an azure-colored Irrational who resembles the lowercase Greek letter tau (τ). They have only one arm in some scenes, but two in others. They are treated as the irrational number of the same name (6.283185307179586...).

Algebralians, also spelled Algebraliens, are vibrant, genderless entities that mirror mathematical symbols. They hail from the Equation Playground and have appeared in episodes like 'X Finds Out His Value'. They represent mathematical indicators such as the Obelus, symbolizing the Divide Operator.

The algebraliens in "X Finds Out His Value" were simply living numbers that didn't have any powers of their own, with Four needing a wand to help X figure out what his value actually was. In BFDI, the Algebraliens we meet are essentially godlike aliens whose powers put them far and above everyone else in the setting.

Tau, labelled The Normal Guy, is a contestant on The Greek Alphabet Games. Tau is what you'd consider bland, but in reality, he's a really kind guy who cares about his friends. He's often caught up between his two best friends, Mu and Sigma, however.
