Situated on a bay in north Estonia, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea, it has a population of c. 461,000 (as of 2025) [2] and administratively lies in the Harju maakond (county). Tallinn is the main governmental, financial, industrial, and cultural centre of Estonia.

[2][3] Discovered in 1983 by Keith Burridge and colleagues, [1] talin is a ubiquitous cytosolic protein that is found in high concentrations in focal adhesions.
