T Tauri Stars - NASA
2020年8月25日 · With ground-based optical follow-up observations of unidentified ROSAT All-Sky Survey sources, several hundred new T Tauri stars have been identified based on Halpha emission and Lithium absorption. T Tauri stars are young (at most a few million years old) bright stars still partially wrapped in the cloud of dust and gas where they were created.
APOD: 2022 February 10 - T Tauri and Hind's Variable Nebula
2022年2月2日 · Each day a different image or photograph of our fascinating universe is featured, along with a brief explanation written by a professional astronomer. Explanation: The star with an orange tint near top center in this dusty telescopic frame is T Tauri, prototype of the class of T Tauri variable stars.
T Tauri star - Wikipedia
T Tauri stars (TTS) are a class of variable stars that are less than about ten million years old. [1] This class is named after the prototype, T Tauri, a young star in the Taurus star-forming region. They are found near molecular clouds and identified by their optical variability and strong chromospheric lines.
APOD: 2014 May 3 - T Tauri and Hind s Variable Nebula
2014年5月3日 · Explanation: The yellowish star near center in this dusty telescopic skyview is T Tauri, prototype of the class of T Tauri variable stars. Just next door is the yellow cosmic cloud historically known as Hind's Variable Nebula (NGC 1555).
APOD: 2025 January 10 - Young Stars, Dark Nebulae
Known as T-Tauri class stars they tend to be faint and take on a yellowish hue in the image. One of the brightest T-Tauri stars in Taurus, V773 (aka HD283447) is near the center of the telescopic frame that spans over 1 degree. Toward the top is the dense, dark marking on the sky cataloged as Barnard 209. Tomorrow's picture: light-weekend
New T Tauri stars in Chamaelion - NASA
With ground-based optical follow-up observations of unidentified ROSAT All-Sky Survey sources, several hundred new T Tauri stars have been identified based on Halpha emission and Lithium absorption. Surprisingly, new T Tauri stars have been found even outside clouds, i.e. outside regions of on-going star formation.
ASCA Observations of the T Tauri Star SU Aurigae and the …
1998年12月20日 · We present the results of a approximately equals 40 ks pointed Advanced Satellite for Cosmology and Astrophysics (ASCA) observation of the L1517 star-forming region, centered on the X-ray-bright T Tauri star SU Aurigae.
T Tauri stars: wild as dust. - NASA/ADS
This review focuses on the T Tauri stars, their surroundings, and their common evolution toward the main sequence. Aspects of current interest that are discussed in some detail are the photospheric properties of T Tauri stars and their solar-type outer atmospheres, recent evidence for circumstellar (possibly protoplanetary) disks around ...
The HST T tauri star SNAPshot survey - NASA Technical Reports …
1998年4月1日 · All six of the classical T Tauri stars observed so far have shown nebulosity; three objects are compact bipolar nebulae without an optically visible star; and the three weak-line T Tauri stars observed show no evidence for circumstellar nebulosity.
When Stars Go Dark: The Enigma of T Tauri’s Disappearing Light
2025年1月27日 · Located 471 light-years away in the Taurus constellation, T Tauri is at the heart of an extraordinary celestial event. Dubbed the “great dimming,” this phenomenon could make the star disappear from view for decades, and astronomers are eagerly diving into the mysteries it presents. What is T Tauri, and Why Does it Matter?
