Sofala, at present known as Nova Sofala [ˈnovɐ suˈfalɐ], used to be the chief seaport of the Mwenemutapa Kingdom, [dubious – discuss] whose capital was at Mount Fura. It is located on the Sofala Bank in Sofala Province of Mozambique .
