Liu Shaoqi , or Liu Shao-ch’i, (born Nov. 24, 1898, Ningxiang district, Hunan province, China—died Nov. 12, 1969, Kaifeng, Henan province), Chairman of the People’s Republic of China (1959–68) and chief theoretician of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Liu Shaoqi was a Chinese politician and revolutionary. He served as the chairman of the NPC Standing Committee in the 1950s and was also the first vice-chairman of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He was the president of the People's Republic of China from 1959 to 1968.

Shao Qi Tan (b. 2000, Singapore) is an artist and ceramic designer based in London and Singapore. She graduated from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London with First Class Honours in the Bachelor of Arts and Ceramic Design.
