A lot of people make the mistake of thinking they're the same thing. While PSE is not as elegant as ASL, it is still vastly superior to SEE for the purposes of communication.

If you picture strict SEE on the far left point of a line, and pure ASL on the far right point, PSE fills the whole range in between.
