SCP-098, also known as “Surgeon Crabs” is a collection of a few instances of a species of animal which is biologically impossible, contained by the fictional SCP Foundation. They look like most crabs except they have little knife-like structures on their front two appendages.

SCP-098 is a species of crustacean that looks like a crab, but with knife-like front limbs made of silica. They can grow larger than typical land-dwelling arthropods and prefer environments with concealment and shallow water.

Laconic Description: SCP-098 are unusually large crabs with knife-like claws. They hunt prey in groups and when the animal is unable to move, they slowly cut away the flesh of the animals with their claws and eat them alive, only stopping their feeding when the animal dies.
