2010年10月19日 · Is there any noticeable accuracy differences in a 14.5" Socom profile barrel and a regular 16" standard m4 profile barrel? I am thinking I would like to try a 14.5" barrel with perm'ed muzzle device but only if the socom profile would offer some possible gains in accuracy. If it matters, the two barrels I am comparing are chromelined colts.

2006年11月11日 · Didnt even know they made such things but looking on EE I saw a cmmg Socom style barrel that was heavy under the handguards with little notches for a grenade launcher. My current m4 barrel is light under the handguards. What is the reason a guy would want a Socom style barrel that is heavy under the handguards?

2021年1月1日 · The two barrels that Brownells have is are both Colt; the M4A1 is the regular 14.5” government profile barrel. The M4 SOCOM is the heavier profile barrel with M203 flats. The M4 SOCOM is one of the finest production barrels made today.

2008年3月29日 · With the original M4 barrels being fired on full auto with no rest between magazines, the barrels would burst just behind the front sight after about 850 rounds of continuous fire. So, they came out with the new SOCOM (stands for Special Operations Command) M4 barrel that would not burst with this kind of continuous auto fire.

2014年9月3日 · On an unrelated note, my SOCOM barrel handles heat WAY BETTER than my M4 profile barrels, I took it out today in 100 degree weather, put a couple hundred rounds of M855 through it, and I could barely feel any heat coming off the barrel at all. My M4 profile barrels get super hot after 5-10 rounds even if its cold outside. Youre going to be amazed

2018年3月19日 · Its a Colt M4 with TA31F, M4 RAS for both branches The Army M4 has a Matech, USMC M4 has a KAC rear sight. Army has a PEQ-15 and M952V/similar light/no light. USMC M4 has a PEQ-16 And that's about it. Some units have an Aimpoint instead of ACOG. That's really about it tho. Same as its been the last decade
