2023年4月23日 · I think if they'd started with the 556 Classic and the 551-A1, and then come out with other models they would've had a different result. The Sig 55x was like the holy grail to a lot of people then. For scale-I think there were more PE-57s in the US than Sig 55x. I saw the Sig 556 at the NRA show in Milwaukee back in 06'.

The piston we all know is fast becoming the rage of the AR community. The 556 certainly comes with several shortfalls that most will be quick to point out are cosmetic.

2015年1月25日 · I recently purchased a Sig 556 Pistol with the intent of turning it into an SBR project. Took it out to the range to break it in and the thing is WAY over gassed. Brass is ejected almost 40', the case mouth is destroyed, body is dented, and the ejector is nearly tearing the cartridge rim off.

Do you guys know if I buy an American made Sig 556R and or 522 Swiss looking handguard, will that easily replace the Fish gill handguard ? If yes, will it fit with out cutting the handguard ? 2017年5月20日 · Making the 556 lower take AR mags probably increased sales and made it last longer than it would have otherwise IMHO. My take on the whole story is: For both the masses and the 55x fanbois, Sig started off badly. The initial 556 was visually unappealing with an AR stock and a heavy, ugly fishgill stock.
