The rinkhals (/ ˈrɪŋk (h) æls /; Hemachatus haemachatus), also known as the ringhals / ˈrɪŋhæls / [4] or ring-necked spitting cobra, [5] is a species of venomous snake in the family Elapidae.

The Rinkhals is endemic to Southern Africa and is found only in South Africa, eSwatini, Lesotho and eastern Zimbabwe. Though it resembles a cobra (spreads a hood) it is not a true cobra and gives birth to live young.
