Richard Roswell Lyman (November 23, 1870 – December 31, 1963) was an American engineer and religious leader who was an apostle in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1918 to 1943. Lyman is often noted as the most recent LDS Church apostle to have been excommunicated.

2023年3月31日 · Born November 23, 1870 in Fillmore, Utah, Richard Roswell Lyman inherited a rich legacy of of religious service from prominent members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His father and grandfather were both members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles; his father was President of that Quorum for 13 years.

Richard R. Lyman was ordained an apostle in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in April 1918. About 9 years after the second manifesto on polygamy. In 1925 Richard chose to seal himself to Anna Jacobsen Hegsted as a plural wife.

Richard Roswell Lyman by Jeffrey S. Hardy. See Diary. Richard Roswell Lyman was born on 23 November 1870 in Fillmore, Utah, to Francis Marion Lyman and Clara Carolyn Callister. His family moved to Tooele in 1878 and there he was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 29 July 1879.

Richard R. Lyman's journals (1919-1937) record his daily activities and also served as notebooks for ideas. He records his feelings about religion, his family, education, engineering, travels, and his assignment as mission president for the Mormon Church in Europe.

2016年10月31日 · Graduating as president of the Normal Class of 1891, Richard R. Lyman described “an incalculable debt of gratitude” he felt to Brigham Young Academy for the care and teaching he and his classmates received.

Apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, son of Apostle Francis M. Lyman, and grandson of Apostle Amasa M. Lyman. He served great, until, through his own confession, he was excommunicated for violating the law of chasity.

2014年1月31日 · Richard R. Lyman was born in November 23rd, 1870 in Fillmore, Utah . He married his wife Amy on September 9th, 1896. At the age of 48 (in 1918), he was called as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. His wife would become years later a Relief Society General President.
