2017年11月5日 · I have WinRAR as my default zipping program on my Vista 32bit computer. I used to see the WinRAR icon on my zipped folders, but now all I see is the folder with a zipper on it. 2024年1月2日 · The default icon for .rar .zip etc. archives is atrocious. I can barely tell the icon is different than just a stock folder. I was hoping to skip winrar on the new rig just to reduce clutter since most of the software is already there but the icons are unusable. Is there a way to change the default icon for the archives for the whole OS?

2022年5月17日 · Download zipfldr_icon.zip (.ico file extracted from a Windows 10 PC). Unzip the archive and extract/copy "zipfldr.ico" to "C:\Windows" Run the following command from a Command Prompt window: reg add hkcu\software\classes\compressedfolder\defaulticon /ve /d c:\windows\zipfldr.ico /f. Log off and log back in for the change to take effect.

2023年6月4日 · After the restart, I notice that the .zip .rar and .7z file icons have the ugly yellow folder with a letter corresponding to the file extension at the top right. How do I replace that icon with the icon that we all know and love? I'm talking about the typical black and white logo that 7zip has used for a while as their main logo.

To reset the file association, right click a rar files, choose Open With - choose another app, check the box marked 'Always use this app to open rar files' Then if you cannot see the old app you used to open rar files, click 'More apps'

2023年7月15日 · For me, when I right-clicked on a rar file, there was an option to extract all and open with ---> Windows Explorer, but when I click on extract in the extract all window, nothing happens! And when I open it with File Explorer, nothing happens! One of the reasons I upgraded my Windows was to support rar files. Thank you for your valuable help!

2024年7月29日 · If you want to create RAR files, WinRAR is your best bet. However, if you just need to extract a RAR file, the free and open source 7-Zip app is a better choice. After you've downloaded and installed 7-Zip from their website, you're good to go. You can double-click any RAR file to open it in 7-ZIP and view or extract the files.

You should expect icon packages to come in some kind of archival file, like a ZIP, RAR, or 7Z file. The archive file should contain typical icon formats. Like before, if you see an executable or anything like one, stay clear.
