As part of his 50th anniversary edition, Francisco Segarra has created a wall tile collection inspired by an age-old pottery technique, raku. With raku techniques, pottery coated in a metallic glaze is fired in a special kiln until it reaches a bright-red firing temperature.

Raku is a unique pottery style with origins from 16th century Japan. Originally used for traditional ceremonies, Raku was prized for embodying the Zen tranquility and visible beauty. The Raku process is exciting and dynamic. Pieces are heated to 1800 degrees F in an outdoor kiln. Some are fully glazed, others only partially glazed.

Produced in a small format (6x27cm), Raku is composed of 8 modern colours, each characterised by an ample variety of tones, rust effect details, as well as small discreet contrasting points. Tiles are added to the basket individually. Free cut samples are not full size sample tiles.
