The R-77 'ADDER' - History, Design, Performance & Discussion
2023年8月21日 · My (unfounded) opinion is that the original R-77 and R-77-1 share the same motor. Not a great opinion to have, the R-77 is 3.6m long and 175kg vs the R-77-1’s 3.71m long and 190Kg. Both have the same warhead, and its unlikely the extra 15kg of weight and 0.11m length are avionics related or due to the streamlined nose.
New Radar Missiles(Mica, Derby, AIM-120, R-Darter, R-77)
2024年3月4日 · Problem is, R-77 and PL-12’s ∆V get’s nerfed, and also get strange air resistance. While AIM-120A performs like a AIM-120C, with super thrust power and very low air resistance. The 120A is worse than the R-77 if you compare the datamined stats from the dev server. PL-12 is the worst ARH though, you’re correct there.
SU-33 Balance Discussion: BR Adjustment and R-77 Missiles
2024年12月17日 · Why R-77 makes sense for the Su-33 in War Thunder: The R-77 would be a logical addition to the Su-33 because, as part of the Su-27 family, it would have had the technical potential to carry these missiles, especially with later upgrades. Adding the R-77 to the Su-33 in War Thunder would not only increase the realism of the game but also reflect ...
The R-77 'ADDER' - History, Design, Performance & Discussion
2024年3月2日 · I think they modelled it, the R-77 has the most drag than all the other ARH missiles, and in side by side test firings it slows down much quicker and sooner too. For reference compared to the AIM-120 the R-77 has a higher drag coefficient value and higher diameter (typically for BVR missiles with larger diameters they have lower drag ...
What a you think about balance R-77 and AIM-120 - War Thunder
2025年2月11日 · AMRAAM is superior in almost every single situation. I really don’t get the R-77. While it is slightly better at close range than the AMRAAM MICA blows both out of the water (at those ranges). There isn’t a single situation in which I would want to use the R-77 over something else. I would honestly take 4 AMRAAMs over 8 R-77s.
R-77-1 but no AIM-120C-5? - Aircraft - War Thunder - Official Forum
2025年2月28日 · R-77-1 has a slightly nozzle taper and a shorter burning motor compared to the R-77, that is it. NVM, right now R-77-1 has slightly lower drag and a noticeably stronger motor than R-77. This seems to make it have longer straight line range than the AIM-120A but still worse range against maneuvering targets.
The R-77 'ADDER' - History, Design, Performance & Discussion
2024年7月17日 · The R-77 is slightly smaller caliber, has slightly higher CxK. This shows that the R-77 has similar drag coefficients to a conventionally finned missile of similar size. The difference is closer than the 0.1 value difference of the CxK as well, since a larger missile will generally also reduce the CxK value in unison.
The R-77 'ADDER' - History, Design, Performance & Discussion
2025年2月27日 · The real drag numbers on the R-77 are still in darkness, and we still need experimental proof to actually say that a constant drag value is used. There’s also people who uses the fact that the R-77M don’t has lattice fins to take a guess on the flight performance of the R-77, when the RCS also becomes a factor in that.
The R-77 'ADDER' - History, Design, Performance & Discussion
2024年3月4日 · I have suspected the R-77-1 must use a different motor, or should not have the same performance as the standard R-77… further proof of this is the two different sized nozzles at the rear. See the R-77. See the R-77-1
What is the effective range of R-77 / Derby vs AIM-120A
2024年12月11日 · Here have big question. When Gaijin will give a chance of the pilots to show thier skills, why im saying this? Its a simple AIM-120A has double range of the R-77. Fly models of the USSR top jets are not that must be. Why Gaijin diside to cut from USSR jets and missles ? Same like a year before R-60M vs AIM-9L. Yes in the past R-27 was better from SPARROWS but in this times multipathing was on ...
