2012年2月23日 · Ensure that you space out pepcid with meds. My vet recommended 2 hours between meds (in our case prednisone) and pepcid and his pepcid dose is 15mg per meal (meals here are twice a day). I've also noticed name brand Pepcid can be given 15 mins before food but some generic famotidine takes an hour to work :s.

2010年11月16日 · No, Pepcid AC is not the same as Flagyl and will not treat diarrhea. It is an anti-acid, to help reduce stomach acid. IMMODIUM does treat diarrhea, and can be given to dogs if needed. You can give one tablet every eight hours (*per my former vet/employer).

2012年11月16日 · I wouldn't worry too much about cutting back from 20mg to 10mg a day right away. Merlin has been on 20mg famotidine a day for well over a year. He has never had any side effects. (I give him the generic stuff now as it's cheaper than Pepcid.) Of course every dog is different. What is your vet suggesting? Edited November 20, 2012 by MerlinsMum
