Cleaning Debate -- PBW vs. OxiClean - Homebrew Talk
2017年6月6日 · I use Oxiclean Versatile Free (Perfume free stuff) because it is cheaper. I also rinse everything well with hot water first and remove as much physical debris before I soak them. I use Oxiclean as a way to supplement my cleaning skills. In carboys, soaking them in hot water for an hour, empty most of the water and shove a rag inside.
Is Oxiclean Food Safe? - Homebrew Talk
2011年6月17日 · I only use OxiClean to strip labels from bottles, because it works wicked pissah. That being said, I only use StarSan to clean my fermenter, carboys, bottles, siphon, hoses, hydrometer, thermometer... You get the idea. Since they say bleach is safe, well rinsed, I'd say it's safe to say that OxiClean is safe, well rinsed out.
Can I get some actual Oxiclean volumes rather than 'scoops'?
2009年11月29日 · My Oxiclean Free bucket I bought today (3.5 lbs) says 1/8 cup to 1/2 cup per gallon (too large a range for my comfort). The odd person on here says they use 2 tbsp (1/8 cup) per 5 gallons ; this is much less than the product label says.
Oxiclean - My container says DO NOT SOAK METALS
2006年4月3日 · oxiclean- like anything else, when used properly is fine for soaking. I routinely soak my cornies with oxiclean for 30 min, flip upside down into a clean 5 gallon bucket let it soak another 30 min to clean the top half. Perfectly clean corny with no corrosion everytime.

It's great stuff for scrub-free cleaning, and I use it at 1/2 scoop per 4 gallons to remove beer bottle labels. Just a dunk in hot water and Oxiclean Versatile, and the labels generally fall right off, or can be peeled right off with no effort.

cleaning bottles with oxyclean - Homebrew Talk
2011年5月20日 · This can be a result of using too much, or mixing it with cold to lukewarm water, or even if your solution partially evaporates. OxiClean works best with hot water, and dissolves easier, so mixing with hot water is highly recommended. Also, the amount called for by the directions is overkill in most applications, homebrewing and otherwise.
