On books' OBI, advertising and/or publicity are written. Sometimes it is an output of the story, and sometimes it's an easy biography of the writer. Customers read it and decide to buy or not to buy the book. BOOK's OBI appeared around 1930 in Japan, and around 1960, Japanese Record-Labels started to add OBI-STRIPS also to vinyl-records.

2024年10月11日 · Non-US worldwide release. Made in Czech Republic. Runouts are stamped. An additional 300 copies were retailed by Assai Records with a hand numbered Japanese style obi under their Assai Obi Editions range. It also came with a "BUMPIN' THAT" sticker.

(CD generation gets around this of course with the jewel case) So I'd undertstand not wanting a release with a sticker, but a non-Japanese Obi seems an odd thing to not find at least somewhat interesting to have. Not worth an extra £10 or anything, but if I could chose between obi and not, obviously have an obi.
