Notary laws vary so much from state to state, and some parts of the process, such as identification procedures, can vary within different counties and parishes. 2008年12月1日 · I replied to a this issue several months ago. I think we should have a picture id if everyone is serious about preventing fraud. Anyone can call themselves a notary and make up a bogus seal. Id cards can be bogus too, but a secure photo id for notaries provides another layer of protection. 2010年4月29日 · This is the reason they cannot accept the current military ID cards, all the info is no longer visible on the cards. We have to positively ID the signer according to our state's notary laws. We are not there just to take acknowledgments or administer an oath. Notaries must think critically and not rely on made up more/less, official name, official ID rules to qualify their signers. Otherwise, groups of citizens in America are denied notary services for no good reason except that the scare of fraud has run amok. The robosigners?
