Nosean, also known as noselite, is a mineral of the feldspathoid group with formula: Na 8 (Al 6 Si 6 O 24)(SO 4)·H 2 O. [1] It forms isometric crystals of variable color: white, grey, blue, green, to brown.

Nosean forms a solid solution series with Hauyne, where Hauyne contains calcium in place of some of the sodium, whereas Nosean lacks any calcium and has water in its chemical structure. Nosean is named after German mineralogist and chemist Karl Wilhelm Nose (1753-1835).

Nosean is generally restricted to volcanic rocks. The volcanic rocks that the sodalite group is found in include phonolites, alkali basalts, trachyte, and feldspathoidal basalt. The commonly associated minerals are nepheline, leucite, and sanidine.
