The E-3A AWACS are NATO’s ‘eye in the sky’. They provide the Alliance with air surveillance, battle management, command and control, and communications, and are used for a vast range of NATO missions.

2023年11月15日 · NATO has selected its next generation command and control aircraft as the Alliance’s existing Airborne Warning and Control (AWACS) fleet nears retirement. Production of the six new Boeing E-7A Wedgetail aircraft is set to begin in the coming years, with the first aircraft expected to be ready for operational duty by 2031.

2023年11月17日 · NATO has selected Boeing’s E-7 Wedgetail as its next airborne moving target indicator and air battle management aircraft, succeeding the aging Boeing E-3 Sentry AWACS, the alliance announced this week.
