NanoArt is a novel art discipline related to science and technology. It depicts natural or synthetic structures with features sized at the nanometer scale, which are observed by electron or scanning probe microscopy techniques in scientific laboratories.

NanoArt is the expression of the New Technological Revolution and reflects the transition from Science to Art using Technology. Scientists are exploring the nano world hoping to find a better future and there is evidence that Nanotechnology might be the answer.

It goes back in time to the first uses of nanomaterials and nanotechnologies to create art and continues with the beginnings of NanoArt. The status on this new artistic-scientific discipline and the movement that evolved from recent technological developments in the multidisciplinary area known as nanotechnology is also presented.
