There's a plush of My Melody with her red hood produced in the 1990s. The hood was removable, and underneath...she was just a white rabbit! Ears sticking straight up, and her blank expression now reading as a look of pure shock...

I like My Melody too, but Kuromi is actually the one who got me into Sanrio as an adult. I love the "bad girl with a heart of gold" archetype and she kinda falls into that. Plus her and My Melody come across as very queer coded and that makes me feel seen. Kuromi will always be my favorite of the characters.

My Melody Kuromi and My Melody seem to be somewhere near the same age as Uta but in Hello Kitty's super cute adventures, they all own their own houses and businesses. If for some reason all of these universes/shows are canonically connected then I'd believe that they had grown up but my question still stands.
