An educational facility housed in what was once a weather tracking station on Mt. Fuji that operated for 35 years from 1964 to 1999. The facility features a simulation chamber where visitors can experience wind and temperature conditions on the summit. Temporary Closed from 18th Nov 2021, due to construction. We will reopen on 26th March, 2022.

2015年9月16日 · Before the days of satellites, there was a manned radar dome on top of Mt. Fuji. From its installation in 1965 up until 1999 it served as a detection system for dangerous storms. Just imagine what that job was like in winter! At the end of its usefulness, the radar dome was air-lifted to a new home in Fujiyoshida, and turned into a small museum.

To predict dangerous storms, in 1965 a radar was installed on top of mount Fuji. By having a radar at such a high altitude (3,776 metres), it can "see" further ahead and thus predict hazardous weather earlier.

The Mt. Fuji Radar Dome Museum is a technology museum from the 1960s with stunning views of Mt. Fuji, offering interactive displays about weather systems. It also serves as a visitor center that offers free water to its visitors, although it's recommended to bring your own bottles.
