2020年5月15日 · Any thoughts on the mr cool universal heat pump package. It says it is rated to 100% of it heating capacity @ -5F. It heats down to -22f so must have an integrated drain pan heater. Seems like a good option to reuse existing duct work. The price is more manageable than the similar mitsubishi M series.

2024年6月10日 · BlueRidge sells a 2T heat pump (#208101243) with the exact same specs as the MrCool HyperHeat 2T (#211497151), but then also offers it in a 1.5T unit in this line and AHRI spec shows better low temp performance than the MrCool.

2023年5月23日 · Hi Ron, I’ve done a MR COOL Universal Heat Pump install with a DIY pre-charged lineset like you’re considering, and for the same reason, too. The cost was just something that circumstances at the time couldn’t bear. I outlined the install and considerations in another thread on here, but the gist is that I’m happy.

A lot of people are doing the mr. cool thing as well… I am in a colder climate, zone 5 & understand both Mits & Daikin units can provide heat down to below 0 degrees if I am correct. I like reliability, quiet unit, & ability to heat in low temps. Input?

2023年12月11日 · Option 2: Mr. Cool 2-zone 12k heads, one on each floor, with baseboard back-up heaters. I would probably supplement this with a stand-alone dehumidifier and air filter. Summer evenings are generally cool, but humid, and I want to somewhat compensate for the lack of a furnace filter in the absence of a furnace.

2024年6月18日 · Hello friends. I want to install a ducted heat pump, let’s say a Mr Cool or Mitsubishi or other. I want to get one that uses R-454b refrigerant which of course has a much better gwp than R-410A Puron. Problem is that I don’t see any retailers selling something I can buy. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

2020年10月3日 · The blower motor calls for a min 4amp max 15amp. The wiring diagram on the unit states to omit the wiring to motherboard if using a heat kit. So my math is as follows 8000 watts/240= 33amps + 4amps. Puts me at 37amps on a 45amp breaker. Mr cool rep says to wire the motherboard on a separate breaker but then said I could do it as the diagram states.

2022年3月12日 · Check out the Perfect Aire 18k DIY (e.g., 3PAMSHQCO18). I believe they are a slightly newer generation than the MR Cool and are slightly higher efficiency according to NEEP. HVAC Direct has them for $1824. Of course, the Fujitsu units are great (I have two low temp 12k units that work great).

2020年2月21日 · One difference between a 2 ton Fujitsu and the 2 ton Mr. Cool Universal is that the Fujitsu modulates both air speed and compressor speed with load, whereas the Mr. Cool air handlers are single speed (comparable in some respects to Mitsubishi MVZ series air handlers.) I didn't find cfm or static pressure specs in the manual for the air handler.

2017年4月6日 · The amount of surface area of the line sets exposed to the attic are tiny, and heat gain/loss is quite small. Line sets need to be insulated primarily to avoid accumulating condensation / frost creating localized moisture problems- the thermal losses are a secondary issue, with only a tiny effect on system efficiency.
