2015年2月3日 · I was told that this is a mandolute, but am not sure. It has 5 sets of strings and is marked Alvarez, hand made, Classic Guitar model # 5090 on the inside. Does any one have any info on this. I have inclosed some pictures, thanks.

2005年1月25日 · Also, a quirk of most things that Weymann branded Mandolute was a soundboard and back plate that extended slightly past the ribs, violin-like. Weymanns are odd ducks. Some I've encountered have abysmally "flabby" tone in old age, and some sound just fine.

2021年9月20日 · New (to me) mandolute I got this today in trade for a bunch of guitar stuff at a very good local music store. A Weymann probably model 20, serial number 16180, probably 1914.

2010年2月18日 · Heres a few pics of a very nice style 40 mandolute. Gold tuner plate with real MOP buttons, and most importantly it does not have the top crack we see on so many of theses.

2024年11月5日 · I bought a Mandolute No 30 a couple of weeks ago with a broken headstock and a neck that was detached from the body. After making sure all the joints are stable, I put it back together and have been playing it for about a week. The action is set about 0.052" on the base side and 0.050" on the treble side.

2015年12月10日 · To have a modest model mandolute without a crack, with a good neck, a pretty figured back and a nice headstock is a real score. Fair play to you. The ones I have played were very sweet in tone, didn't have the tonal clarity / precision and projection of a Martin, but they were very nice mandolins. Nice neck profile for my big hands, too.

2024年10月2日 · The mandolute appears to be in good condition overall with the exception of a decent size crack. To add to the complexity, it looks like someone gave it an extra coat of varnish, maybe in an attempt to cover the crack?

The only non-carved mandolin I have seen with that much doming and no cant is a Bohmann which has its own patented bracing pattern.
