2020年1月28日 · The need for subs with Maggies is often overblown. Their bass has a sharp rolloff but Magnepan doesn't fudge the specs either. If they state an F3 of 50Hz, you can be sure that's what you'll get. And as for bass volume, even the smaller ones can produce more than a small floorstander IME.

2014年10月9日 · The QR tweeters were a big advance for Magnepan, because they take the beautiful inner detail right up into the very high frequencies without ever sounding edgy or agressive. There is no speaker that has the same combination of detail and smoothness as a Magnepan. And the MG-0.5QR gives you all of this character, just lacking the low bass.

2010年5月5日 · The Magnepan 1.7 does not allow bi-wiring. I am using the manufacturer supplied resistors. I am trying to find out generally without adding into the equation which speaker wire or IC are used, does using a resistor affect transparency and does the speakers have less air.

2024年7月12日 · The Magnepan being magnetic planar have a relatively steady 4 ohm resistance, so that is not hard at all on a GOOD amp. Electrostatic or ribbon speakers have a far more reactive impedance load and are harder on amps.
