I just purchased another MSX 140 it has like 67 hours on the clock, and am documenting the full troubleshooting, disassembly and I mean complete disassembly, and reassembly of the MSX 140.

I had an '03 MSX 140 that I ran for two seasons and was very happy with it, LOVED it in fact when it was running, but that wasn't enough of the time, there were a series of problems with it, just some bad quality control, I think the '04's were a lot better but the '03's including mine had a lot of problems, I had a lot of down-time and warranty issues ...

The problem started out by the jet ski bogging down while riding hard... not fast but jumping waves, spinning around.. the bogging occurred while having the jet ski out twice. The second time the bogging became more normal.

2021年3月30日 · (Going from memory) Factory stock MSX 140 pistons are 1mm larger diameter than the red engine cylinder size, so a 1.00mm oversize red engine piston is the same diameter as a ‘stock’ MSX 140 piston. I forget whether the dome height and shape of the MSX 140 piston differs from the stock red engine piston.

2016年8月2日 · An overheated EMM can become damaged and need repair. That said, the MSX 140 EMM are resistant to the C89 capacitor problem that is quite common on the Virage and Genesis EMM. Polaris did a warranty recall on the factory EMM for 2003 production. There should be a sticker on the side of the flame arrestor cover if the work was done at a dealer.
