The M28 or M29 Davy Crockett Weapon System was a tactical nuclear recoilless smoothbore gun for firing the M388 nuclear projectile, armed with the W54 nuclear warhead, that was deployed by the United States during the Cold War.

2017年1月22日 · Produced from 1927 until 1940, this was a shortened (27”/68.5cm barrel) with improved furniture and sights. The Civil Guard followed shortly afterwards with their M28 short rifle. The M28 would only be produced until 1933, however, when it was replaced with the Civil Guard M28/30, which further improved the sights.

The M28 was the rifle of the Finnish Civil Guard. An accurized M91 with a heavy, 27" free-floated barrel, improved trigger and sights and chambered in Finnish 7.62x53R. It was a marksman’s battle rifle.

m28/30 The Finnish Civil Guard still saw the glaring issues with the M28 rifle, primarily the rear sight. The Konovolov rear sight was not well suited to precision shooting and lacked the ability to have fine, incremental adjustments made.

The Finnish Civil Guard M28/30 rear sight is a completely new design specifically for this model. The base is a sleeve around the barrel and soldered in place with ears at the rear to protect the leaf from damage. It is numbered 2, 4, 6, and 8 on the left side representing hundreds of meters.

2015年3月26日 · The m/28-30 is a fantastically accurate rifle with an even heavier barrel than the m/28. It features an improved rear sight with finer, easier adjustment and better manipulation. This would go on the be a standard feature for both branches.

The Finns continued to make progressive modifications to the rifle's design, and the M28-30 was introduced in 1930. The M28-30 had an improved rear sight, a front sight adjustable for windage, a coiled trigger spring to minimize pre-travel, and magazines redesigned to prevent jamming due to the rimmed cartridges interlocking.
